Simmetry Design's Rule Book Empty
PostSubject: Simmetry Design's Rule Book   Simmetry Design's Rule Book Empty3/27/2016, 9:48 am

I’ve divided this into two sections: a “simple” rules list for those who want to touch and go, and an “elaborate” list for those who want a better explanation and/or a who, what, why, etc. ^-^ If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the admins or mods.

Simple:

  • Note that this forum is open to the public, so the rules are based around that.

  • This forum is for Sims 2, Sims 3, and Sims 4. Sims 1 players are welcome to join, but I am unaware of any who still play it.

  • There isn’t an exact age restriction on the forum, but note that there will be nudity and blood in the creative sections, and some cursing (no one really curses much though).

  • Cursing is allowed, but don’t go overboard.

  • Nudes and blood/horror are allowed to a certain extent. Horror or a lot of blood should be under spoiler tags. Triggering themes (such as abuse) should be heavily warned about and placed under a spoiler tag. Avoid those themes, if possible.

  • Extreme gore and Extreme/explicit nudes must be linked offsite with a warning label (posting with Flickr link, etc.). Ex: Extreme gore – basically anything from a really gruesome horror movie.  Ex: Extreme/explicit nudes – nether regions in full, detailed display.

  • Weapons and cursing are allowed in images.

  • Be kind to everyone and yourself! Includes: No trolling, no bullying, no fighting, no insensitive comments about race, country, art, religion, etc. Basically if it’s rude, try to keep your mouth shut. If you have a problem or concern with another member, please contact the admins or mods instead of handling it on your own.

  • No politics. Just going to say it now and save us the trouble it may cause later.

  • Don’t steal, even if it’s outside the forum, and avoid purposefully copying other people’s work.

  • No spamming with constant self-promotions, products, or bumping a thread 5 times in 5 minutes, etc. We aren’t very strict, but if it gets annoying expect warnings then a ban. Linking your tumblr/contact site/blog once is okay.

  • As a general rule, everyone receives 3 warnings and is then banned. Extreme cases involve immediate bans. Ban removals are subject to admin and mod discussion, but in most cases will most likely remain permanent.

Elaborate

  • Note that this forum is open to the public, so the rules are based around that. Can’t just have willy nilly rules when we can be seen by all. For those wondering, the forum is open to the public so the lurkers can read everything without joining (tutorials and such).

  • This forum is for Sims 2, Sims 3, and Sims 4. Sims 1 players are welcome to join, but I am unaware of any who still play it. Despite what some people may think, Sims 2 is still being used!

  • There isn’t an exact age restriction on the forum, but note that there will be nudity and blood in the creative sections, and some cursing (no one really curses much though. We do not want to ban the younger generations from joining in just because society says so. What we do is art, and we want to encourage the young ones to express themselves. We do have precautions against anything extreme though (see below), so hopefully this should work out for everyone.

  • Cursing is allowed, but don’t go overboard. There isn’t a need and remember that the forum is open to the public, and we would like our members to be comfortable.

  • Nudes and blood/horror are allowed to a certain extent. Meaning breasts and some blood spurts/horror themes are good to post by themselves (hope no one faints at the sight of digital blood!). At a certain point the horror images may be a bit too extreme for a general post, but mild enough to not be linked offsite (see below), so that is when you post them under a spoiler tag (so use your best judgement, unless a mod edits after). For nudes, when you start showing full body nudes (minus details of the nether regions, see below), then you post under a spoiler tag. Triggering themes (such as abuse) should be warned about and placed under a spoiler tag. We are allowing others to be creative, however, we do not want to upset anyone about sensitive topics by just scrolling through a thread, hence the spoiler tags.

  • Extreme gore and extreme/explicit nudes must be linked offsite with a warning label (posting with Flickr link, etc.). Ex: Extreme gore – basically anything from a really gruesome horror movie (think extremely detailed entrails and flung body parts everywhere, extremely detailed as well). We don’t want to scare anyone off who can’t handle gore.  Ex: Extreme/explicit nudes – nether regions in full, detailed display. This isn’t a porn site, and we don’t really have need for detailed parts when it comes to modeling (or anything else we do). If you must post something though, link it offsite. For those wondering, full body nudes with no details showing (pubic hair is obviously allowed though) can remain under the spoiler tag.

  • Weapons and cursing are allowed in images. Try to avoid placing curse-words in the avatars though as they are constantly seen by everyone. Same applies to focused images of weapons, meaning just a gun in the picture but nothing else, or only some words and a gun. Don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable, and remember that we have guests.

  • Be kind to everyone and yourself! Includes: No trolling, no bullying, no fighting, no insensitive comments about race, country, art, religion, etc. Basically if it’s rude, try to keep your mouth shut. We have no need for hate on here. We are a loving family who supports one another, and anything that may harm one of us is not allowed. If you have a problem or concern with another member, please contact the admins or mods instead of handling it on your own.

  • No politics. Just going to say it now and save us the trouble it may cause later. Doesn’t really matter what country the people are from, I would prefer the topic stayed off the forum. Private messaging is totally okay though, just don’t let any issues from that message interfere with the forum.

  • Don’t steal, even if it’s outside the forum, and avoid purposefully copying other people’s work. We know that creating sims, creating CC, writing, or editing can be extremely stressful in the beginning, however, this does not give you the excuse to steal from others. That is why we have tutorials and are extremely open about helping each other, so just ask for help when you need it and don’t resort to taking something. Goes for laziness as well, just work like the rest of us! As for copying, just don’t do it on purpose, but accidents can happen.

  • No spamming with constant self-promotions, products, or bumping a thread 5 times in 5 minutes, etc. We aren’t very strict, but if it gets annoying expect warnings then a ban. Linking your tumblr/contact site/blog once is okay. We aren’t as busy as the EA forum where a thread can disappear in 5 minutes, so there really isn’t a need to bump that much.

  • As a general rule, everyone receives 3 warnings and is then banned. Extreme cases involve immediate bans. Ban removals are subject to admin and mod discussion, but in most cases will most likely remain permanent.
